About Mohawk Tavern Seafood Restaurant

Mohawk Tavern Seafood Restaurant has been a part of Monroe’s history since 1952 and is the oldest restaurant in town. Tom and Alline Fontana originally opened the restaurant as a place for friends to enjoy drinks and oysters on the half shell.

Over the years, it has grown into a full-service restaurant and is still owned and operated by a third-generation family. We have an A+ rating from BBB and are also a proud member of the Louisiana Restaurant Association.
